D.O.T. Program
(Developing Older Teens)

Young Businesswoman
Teenagers

The D.O.T. Program (Developing Older Teens) is designed to empower young people aging out of foster care by equipping them with the resources, skills, and relationships they need to successfully transition into adulthood. Through holistic support in case management, life skills education, mentoring, and housing assistance, participants gain the foundation for independent, stable, and purpose-driven lives.

A cornerstone of D.O.T. is sustained mentorship. We partner participants with local Connectors, trusted volunteers or community leaders, who serve as relational guides. Mentors:

  • Offer encouragement, accountability, and friendship

  • Help “connect the dots” — that is, link youth to community resources, opportunities, and networks

  • Help navigate challenges, transitions, and decisions

  • Serve as role models of responsible adulthood

This mentoring relationship is intended to be ongoing, long-term, and responsive to each youth’s evolving journey.
