Reasons to Give

The Family Connection relies on financial support from our community to operate. Donations from individuals, businesses, foundations allow us to provide our services. We offer Life Prep courses, Career Guidance, Independent Living Guidance, and more. Every dollar makes a direct impact on a young adult right here in Acadiana. We could not complete our mission without our supporters. Use the secure form below to give a one-time gift or monthly auto-draft. We also accept donations via PayPal, check, or money money order.

How Do Donor Advised Funds Work

Step 1

A donor opens a donor-advised fund account through the Community Foundation of Acadiana. Click below to be routed to their website.

Step 2

The DAF’s sponsoring organization actively manages and invests the funds. This provides tax-free growth. Click the link below to receive the the DAF infographic to learn more. 

Step 3

The donor also receives an immediate tax deduction. This occurs when they contribute to the fund.

The donor recommends the funds be donated using their fund portal. When the donor decides to donate using the fund, they’ll recommend a charity to the sponsoring organization, which will then disburse the gift as a grant.
