D.O.T. Program(Developing Older Teens)

Connected Today, Empowered Tomorrow

Our D.O.T. Program (Developing Older Teens) is designed to empower young people aging out of foster care by equipping them with the resources, skills, and relationships they need to successfully transition into adulthood. Through holistic support in case management, life skills education, mentoring, and housing assistance, participants gain the foundation for independent, stable, and purpose-driven lives.

A cornerstone of D.O.T. is sustained mentorship. We partner participants with local Connectors, trusted volunteers or community leaders, who serve as relational guides. Mentors:

  • Offer encouragement, accountability, and friendship

  • Help “connect the dots” ; that is, link youth to community resources, opportunities, and networks

  • Help navigate challenges, transitions, and decisions

  • Serve as role models of responsible adulthood

This mentoring relationship is intended to be ongoing, long-term, and responsive to each youth’s evolving journey.

Youth aging out of foster care is at an all-time high. Due to the large numbers, children are becoming homeless and lack the skills needed to be successful. Visit the links below to learn more about each service and contact our office to learn more.
