Life Prep Courses
At The Family Connection Inc., we believe every young person deserves the opportunity to feel prepared for life beyond foster care. That’s why we’ve partnered with Safe Havynn Educational Center to offer a Life Skills Program that’s real, practical, and impactful.
Held twice a year, this hands-on program creates a safe and supportive space where youth can learn and talk openly about things that matter—like communication, relationships, decision-making, and everyday life skills that aren’t always taught but are necessary for success.
Our next session will take place June 6th and 7th, 2026 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM, and we’re excited to welcome a new group of participants ready to grow, learn, and build confidence in themselves and their future.

The next session of our Life Prep Courses for older foster youth will be held on Saturday August 1, 2026 from 10:00-2:00 PM. Join our mailing list to stay up to date with all upcoming events. The program will be held in-person, at the Foster the Love office, in Broussard, Louisiana.
The sessions are FREE and lunch will be provided. The Life Prep Courses are exclusively for individuals between 16-21 years old and who are currently in foster care or have aged out. Each participant will receive a journal, book, and gift card and a certificate of completion.
